Augustine's step

Year 384 · Milan, Italy.

Here Augustine
finds the clue.

Augustine arrives in Milan searching for answers. It is in this city that, listening to Ambrose, he finds the true clue that will lead him to his encounter with God. His restlessness is no longer just noise: it begins to have direction.

The participants are young people aged 14 to 17. The flame symbolises that spiritual restlessness and the fervour that drives them to follow Christ — a stage where personal and professional direction takes shape, and where vocation, volunteering, and consecration begin to be taken seriously.

Stage objective

Maturing in faith
and finding vocation.

To help young people mature in faith and Christian commitment in line with Augustinian values. In this stage, vocational culture takes on special importance, alongside the proposal of consecration and volunteering as a means of encountering God in service to those in need.

Four steps
to catching fire.

What we live in Milan:
restlessness taking the shape of vocation.

i.

Vocational culture

Learning to listen to one's own life. Discovering that behind the question "what do I want to do?" lies another: "what am I called to?"

ii.

Volunteering

Serving those who suffer is also a form of prayer. Volunteering is lived as a real path to encountering God.

iii.

Christian commitment

Maturing in faith means committing: in the parish, in the group, in the street. Without commitment there is no real conversion.

iv.

Proposal of consecration

For those who feel called, a sincere invitation to consider religious or priestly life. Not as an obligation, but as a possible horizon.

You were within me, and I was looking for you outside.

Saint Augustine  ·  Confessions, X, 27
